Carbon Black Content Apparatus

(As per ISO 6964 / ASTM D1603-14 / IS 2530 / IS 4984 / IS 10810 (Part 32) / IEC60811-4-1:2004)

The Carbon Black Content Apparatus from Maxwell Scientific Corporation is designed for accurate determination of carbon black percentage in polyethylene and polyolefin compounds used in insulated cables and wires. The apparatus ensures precise, repeatable results in compliance with international and Indian standards.

Applicable Standards

  • ISO 6964

  • ASTM D1603-14

  • IS 2530 & IS 4984

  • IS 10810 Part 32

  • IEC60811-4-1:2004

Principle of Operation

The test determines carbon black content by pyrolysis of the polymer sample in an inert nitrogen atmosphere, followed by oxidation of carbon black in air. The percentage of carbon black is calculated from the mass difference.
