The AC High Voltage Breakdown Tester is a precision laboratory instrument designed for conducting dielectric strength and insulation breakdown testing of electrical components, insulating materials, cables, and equipment. With an output capacity of up to 5 kV AC at 30 mA, the system ensures reliable evaluation of insulation performance under controlled high-voltage conditions.

The unit features dual digital meters that simultaneously display applied voltage (kV) and leakage current (mA), allowing operators to monitor test behavior in real time. Selectable tripping currents (5, 10, 20, and 30 mA) provide enhanced safety by automatically disconnecting the output whenever the current exceeds the preset limit. A fault indicator lamp clearly signals breakdown or over-current conditions.

Voltage is applied using a smooth manual dimmer system for gradual ramp-up control. For improved automation and testing consistency, an optional automatic motorized dimmer rotation system is available, completing a full voltage ramp in one minute at the press of a toggle switch. Higher-voltage models up to 10 kV or higher can also be supplied to meet specialized testing requirements.
