Oxygen Index / Temperature Index Test Equipment OIT-351 – Precision Flammability Measurement

The OIT-351 Oxygen Index / Temperature Index Test Equipment  is a highly accurate system designed to evaluate the flammability and combustion resistance of materials under controlled atmospheric conditions. It determines:

• Oxygen Index (OI)

The minimum oxygen concentration at which a vertically held material stops burning within 3 minutes.

• Temperature Index (TI)

The temperature at which the material ceases to burn in normal atmospheric air (21% oxygen) within 3 minutes.

Compliant with ASTM D2863 and IS 10810 test methods, this instrument provides a reliable means of assessing material safety, especially for applications involving cables, polymers, plastics, insulation materials, and engineering components.

This machine is used for Limiting Oxygen Index (LOI) test which measures the minimum concentration of oxygen, expressed as a volume percentage, required to support combustion in a mixture of oxygen and nitrogen.

The equipment features easy sample loading, a simplified ignition system, and a direct digital readout, reducing operator dependency and eliminating manual calculations. The supplied Indian analyser ensures accurate oxygen concentration measurement, and for long-term performance, an optional paramagnetic analyser can be used for extended sensor life (over 15 years).

Key Features

  • Accurate LOI and TI testing as per global standards

  • Direct digital display for precise oxygen index values

  • Vertical sample clamp for consistent combustion testing

  • Reduced operator error with automated calculation and readout

  • Optional long-life paramagnetic analyser

  • Ideal for cable manufacturers, polymer labs, R&D units, and QC departments

  • High sensitivity for evaluating flame resistance and ignition behavior

Important Notes

  • Oxygen and Nitrogen cylinders with regulators are not included.

  • Indian sensors have a limited lifespan (approx. 2 years).

  • For enhanced durability and reduced maintenance, a paramagnetic analyser is recommended.
