Product Description
The Tracking Index Test Apparatus is a precision instrument used to evaluate the resistance of insulating materials to electrical tracking caused by the combined effects of high voltage and moisture contamination. Electrical tracking can lead to surface carbonization, insulation failure, and safety hazards; therefore, CTI testing is essential for certifying the reliability of insulating materials used in electrical products and components.
Designed to meet IEC / TEC 60112, ASTM D3638 & ASTM D5288 standards, this apparatus ensures accurate, repeatable, and safe testing for quality control laboratories, certification bodies, R&D facilities, and manufacturing units.
The unit provides an adjustable up to 600 V AC output monitored via an integrated voltmeter for precise voltage application. A dual-electrode assembly applies a controlled 1-newton force at a standardized 30-degree angle onto the specimen, enabling consistent droplet contact and uniform surface tracking assessment in compliance with test standards.
Leakage current is continuously monitored using a 0–5 A ammeter with 0.1 A least count, allowing precise detection of tracking failure conditions or surface breakdown during testing.
Built with a rigid laboratory-grade enclosure and user-friendly controls, the apparatus offers durability, operator safety, and reliable long-term operation in demanding test environments.
